My New Hobby

During my life I had always wanted to create and design my own jewelry. However, I started making soy candles during my first year of college. It started as a research paper for one of my classes. I had to research a topic of interest and I found that making soy candles was an interesting topic. From there, I just started making soy candles. I found that I enjoyed making the candles and found it to be very relaxing to me. After finishing college, I kinda lost interest in making candles and life happen.

Jump forward to more learning and another college later. I started to get interested in aromatherapy and the different essential oils that are used with it. I took a class while still studying for a BA in Social and Criminal Justice. I learned so much from just this study that I wanted to continue in this field. Well, after I graduated from college(again). I decided to pursue studying more about aromatherapy and buying products. I became interested in creating my own scents and learning the different healing properties of the different essential oils. I think I was obsessed with this new hobby and the things I could do with it.

I started making scented massage oils, whipped butter butters, and my own perfume. I just couldn't get enough of making personal care products. I still make them now, however I took a detour and decided on my birthday that I wanted to create and design my own jewelry. I started watching youtube videos on how to make earrings, ear wires, jump rings and even brought a beginners jewelry making kit. On my birthday, I made my first pair of earrings, but I didn't stop there. I continue to make other earrings and body wash, bath bombs, and toilet bombs. I believe I was on to something. Now let me say this, you are not too old to start a hobby or pursue your dreams,get that thought out of your head. I'm in my 60's and I'm making my own earrings.

On this blog I will share with you how I make my own earrings, how you can too. How to make whipped body butter and how to make body wash. It's gonna be fun to do, relax you can do this.
